MARC expects crude oil prices to rebound

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysian Rating Corp Bhd (MARC) expects the price of crude oil to rebound in the second half of the year as current low levels of near US$30 a barrel is “unsustainable” for producing countries, including Malaysia, its chief economist said.

A prolonged period of low prices of crude oil, Nor Zahidi Alias warned, could dampen the country’s economic growth. Malaysia is the only net oil exporting country in the region.
