KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Institute of Economic Research (Mier) forecasts the economy to grow by 5% this year should the economic growth outlook overseas improve.
“The forecast is slightly lower than what we had achieved last year, but is slightly higher than the World Bank’s forecast of 4.7% and the International Monetary Fund’s 4.8% this year. It is about a 0.2% difference,” Mier executive director Professor Zakariah Abdul Rashid said.
