The re-imposition of the foreign-worker levy on foreign workers is symptomatic of the pressures under which Malaysian employers are working under as they scramble to readjust to higher costs from the minimum wage policy which was implemented in the beginning of the year.
But is the decision a wise move? The question becomes ever more pertinent as the economy transforms and companies move up the value chain.
