Vincent Tan to retire from Berjaya Corp


KUALA LUMPUR: Berjaya Corporation Bhd (B-Corp) announced today that its founder and controlliong shareholder, Tan Sri Vincent Tan Chee Yioun, has decided to retire from an active corporate role in (B-Corp), the flagship of the Berjaya Group of Companies.

Consequently, Tan has also relinqusihed his position as Chairman of B-Corp after having earlier handed over the reins of Chief Executive Officer to his eldest son, Datuk Robin Tan Yeong Ching, in January last year.

"In the interim and with immediate effect, Robin will concurrently hold the position of Chairman and CEO of B-Corp while the Board identifies and selects a suitable candidate to fill the Chairman's post," the company said in a statement. - BERNAMA
