SHANGHAI: China Eastern Airlines, one of the country's three major state-owned carriers, says its profit rose 32 percent in the first three months of the year, helped by a rebound in air travel.
The Shanghai-based carrier said Friday its profit in the quarter ended March 31 was 1 billion yuan ($155 million), or 0.09 yuan (1 U.S. cent) per share. Revenue rose 17 percent to 18.2 billion yuan ($2.8 billion) from 15.6 billion the year before.
