Cash prizes in EON Bank contest

PETALING JAYA: EON Bank Bhd has launched a contest, CA$H SURPRISE, which offers cash prizes worth RM1.35mil. The contest will run for nine months until Jan 31.

EON Bank will be giving out RM100,000, RM20,000 and RM10,000 in cash every month to the respective first, second and third prize winners, and 20 consolation prizes of RM1,000 cash each.

Group chief executive officer Albert Lau Yiong said the contest was organised in conjunction with Malaysia’s 50th National Day celebrations and aimed at rewarding existing account holders and attracting new customers.

The contest is open to new and existing savings and current account holders, and for both individual and business accounts.

New savings account holders must make an initial deposit of RM500 and maintain that as a minimum monthly average balance to be eligible for the contest.

For current accounts, new customers that deposit an initial sum of RM1,000 and maintain a minimum monthly average balance of RM500 will get a contest entry.

Qualified customers will receive an SMS from EON Bank and they will be required to reply via SMS.

“We have taken precautions to avoid the abuse of our SMS contest system. EON Bank will not be requesting customers for any deposits into any other account except the customer’s own account,” Lau said.

The first round of winners will be announced at a prize-giving ceremony next month.
