  • Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB) has appointed Datuk Sabri Ahmad chairman effective Jan 1. 

    He succeeds the late Tan Sri Basir Ismail, who served as MPOB's first chairman from 2000 until Dec 31, 2006.

    Sabri, who has been the group chief executive of Golden Hope Plantations Bhd since 2004, has held several positions within the group, including as group director for agro business, and group director for overseas operations and marketing.  

  • Former chief secretary to the Government Tan Sri Samsudin Osman has been appointed BIMB Holdings Bhd non-independent and non-executive chairman effective Feb 1.  

  • McCann Worldgroup Sdn Bhd has promoted Pratik Thakar to deputy managing director and chief strategy officer.  

    Since joining the advertising agency, Thakar has contributed to winning new accounts such as DiGi, Al-Rajhi Bank, Proton and Suria KLCC.
