Alcoa, Rio Tinto await Government nod

CANADA'S Alcoa Inc and Rio Tinto Aluminium of Australia are awaiting the Federal Government’s approval to set up aluminium smelters in Sarawak. 

Deputy Chief Minister Tan Sri Dr George Chan Hong Nam said the State Government had supported the companies' applications for approval by the International Trade and Industry Ministry (MITI).
