AIRASIA Bhd, South-East Asia's biggest discount carrier, is seeking Malaysian Government approval to impose for the first time a fuel surcharge to help offset higher fuel costs.
“Being a new airline with many immature routes, a fuel surcharge will have no impact on demand, especially as airlines in the region have put in surcharges between US$5 and US$20,'' the company said in a statement yesterday.
