KHAZANAH Nasional Bhd's statement on Monday in admitting that “a total business review” had been carried out on Perusahaan Otomobil Nasional Bhd's (Proton) wholly-owned subsidiary Lotus Group International Ltd, may have revealed more than intended.
Things are obviously not going very well at Lotus. And Khazanah, as the biggest and controlling shareholder in Proton with a 34.8% stake, was naturally concerned.
