CEOs more bullish on local economy

MALAYSIAN chief executive officers (CEOs) are becoming more bullish on the local economic conditions over the next 12 months, with 83% of those polled by the 2004 Q1 Malaysian TEC Confidence Index expecting improved conditions compared with only 79% in the fourth quarter 2003. 

In line with such optimism, 82.5% of the CEOs expect their companies to chart higher revenue and 63.4% see profits improving over the next 12 months. More than 50% of the respondents also plan to increase total fixed investment expenditures and staff strength during the next 12 months.
