Teacher who rose to become PNB group chief exec

TAN Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim's career is the classic story of someone rising through the ranks: a teacher who eventually became the group chief executive of Permodalan Nasional Bhd (PNB) and later group chief executive of Kumpulan Guthrie Bhd. 

Born on Dec 14, 1946, Khalid graduated with an economics degree from the University of Malaya in 1971, and went on do his MBA at the University of Queensland, Australia.
