WELLINGTON, New Zealand (AP) - New Zealand's unemployment hit a new 16-year low of 4.4 percent in the three months ended Sept. 30, even though new migrants poured into the country to find jobs, new figures revealed Tuesday.
Statistics New Zealand said the unemployment rate fell to 4.4 percent from 4.7 percent in the quarter ended June 30 as immigration helped fuel the domestic economy and demand for labor.
