STAR Cruises Ltd, the world's fourth-largest cruise line operator, said it had a loss in the first half as the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) dented tourism in Asia.
It reported a net loss of US$37.1mil, or 0.75 cent a share, compared with a profit of US$23mil or 0.55 cent a year ago, the company said in a statement. Sales rose to US$780.7mil from US$757.8mil. Star had a first-quarter loss of US$5.04mil.
