Hong Leong Yamaha eyes 25% market share


HONG Leong Yamaha Distributors Sdn Bhd (HLYD) expects to capture 25% of the local motorcycle market for the year ending June 30, 2004, with the introduction of the new Yamaha Lagenda 110, said Hong Leong Industries Bhd (Yamaha division) chief operating officer C.H. Ng. 

“We expect the increase in market share to be immediate and maintained at a steady basis this financial year,” he said, adding that the company expects to sell 6,250 units a month, with the new 4-stroke moped accounting for 3,000 units.
