IN the Information Age, a more integrated global economy, and greater liberalisation of markets, a country’s competitive advantage is less dependent on such factors as labour, land and natural resources, but increasingly on its potential to produce, acquire, utilise and disseminate knowledge.  

The development of knowledge-based economy would contribute towards broadening the economic base, the NPC said in its report.
