  • Scomi: SHARES of newly listed Scomi Group Bhd closed 28 sen higher at RM2.36 on volume of 2.59 million shares yesterday, making it one of the top gainers of the day. Analysts said the counter had performed beyond expectations in the last week as most had given it a fair value of less than RM2. The company is a dominant player in the oil and gas industry, specialising in mud engineering. 

  • Berjaya Group: PRIME Minister Datuk Seri Dr Mahathir Mohamad's comment that the government would not issue another casino licence, quashed hopes of Bukit Tinggi Resort operating a casino, although the resort will have 250 electronic slot machines installed. Analysts said the clarification had dealt a blow to the shares of Berjaya Group, which is to take over Bukit Tinggi Resort. BGroup shares closed 1.5 sen lower at 17.5 sen.
