SINGAPORE: South-East Asia’s largest private hospital company, Parkway Holdings Ltd, has turned in a 14% higher first-quarter net profit, but warned that the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) outbreak would hurt its second-quarter results.
Parkway, which owns and operates the Mount Elizabeth and Gleneagles hospitals here, said its net profit rose to S$7.94mil for the three months ended March 31 from S$6.99mil a year ago. Revenue swelled 10% to S$83.51mil.
