HUMAN resource management software (HRMS) specialist Orisoft Systems (M) Sdn Bhd, which is en route to be listed on the Mesdaq market of the KLSE by June, aims to capture a bigger slice of the HRMS market by targeting medium and large companies that mainly use HRMS packages developed by foreign companies.
Orisoft Systems founder and chief executive officer Raymond SuDo said that home grown HRMS packages were just as good, if not better than foreign ones because the software was customised to local needs and was generally less costly.
We are just as good, if not better, he told reporters in Kuala Lumpur yesterday after the company signed an agreement with McDonald's Malaysia for the latter to continue using Orisoft's HRMS package for all of McDonald's existing and future outlets.

Currently, McDonald's has 148 outlets nationwide that use the Orisoft HRMS package.
McDonald's Malaysia executive chairman Mohamed Shah Abdul Kadir said the company had used the Orisoft HRMS system since 1993 and found that it not only saved time and cost, but more importantly, helped ensured accuracy, especially on salary calculations.
According to Mohamed Shah, the efficiency of the software had allowed the company to spend more time on improving employee skills in other areas, besides administration work.
For instance, the software has given us the opportunity to monitor the progress of our employees more effectively and allowed the company to spend more time on improving productivity and customer service, he said.
Currently, Orisoft Systems has about 500 local companies using its software nationwide.
Most of these companies are small but we hope the listing will provide us the recognition as a serious player in the market and help us win contracts with larger companies, said SuDo.
According to SuDo, Orisoft would invest RM1.8mil in software development from the RM6.45mil that it hopes to raise from the listing exercise.
On the cost of its software, he said it was priced from RM25,000 to RM1mil, depending on the usage required and that the company could also customise the Orisoft HRMS package to suit the customer's needs.
Orisoft Systems had a yearly turnover of about RM3mil, said SuDo.
