Celcom turns around with RM33mil group net profit

AFTER five years of losses, the country's second largest cellular operator, Celcom (M) Bhd, turned in RM33mil group net profit for the financial year ended Dec 31, 2002 compared to a net loss of RM62mil previously.

But turnover decreased by 6% to RM2.4bil compared to RM2.6bil in 2001. This was mainly due to lower access fee charges and deconsolidated contributions from its operations in Bangladesh and Tanzania.
