Wall St ends lower as AI funding jitters drag tech stocks


The Dow fell 228.29 points, or 0.47%, to 47,885.97. The S&P 500 lost 78.83 points, or 1.16%, to 6,721.43. The Nasdaq lost 418.14 points, or 1.81%, to 22,693.32.

NEW YORK: Wall Street's main indices closed lower on Wednesday, with the S&P 500 and the tech-heavy Nasdaq sinking to three-week lows as nagging worries about the artificial intelligence trade weighed on technology stocks.

Oracle dropped 5.4% after a report said the cloud company's largest data centre partner Blue Owl Capital will not back a US$10 billion deal for its next facility. Amazon.com fell 0.6% after reports said the company is in talks to invest about US$10 billion in ChatGPT maker OpenAI.
