Circular economy crucial to combat climate change, UOB says


UOB chief sustainability officer Eric Lim said a circular economy approach to products and materials entailed keeping them in the economy as long as possible.

KUALA LUMPUR: Apart from renewable energy, circular economy has shown strong potential for impact in helping to address climate change and other global challenges, according to UOB chief sustainability officer Eric Lim.

He said the model of a "linear” economy prevailing today is heavily extractive, resource and carbon-intensive.
