BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN (VnExpress/Vietnam News): Brunei's Prince Abdul Mateen and his wife, Princess Anisha Rosnah, drew attention in matching grey traditional attire at a lavish banquet celebrating Queen Saleha's 80th birthday.
Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah hosted the celebration at Istana Nurul Iman Palace in Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei's capital on Oct. 31, with Crown Prince Al-Muhtadee Billah, his wife Princess Sarah, other royal family members and senior officials in attendance, Borneo Bulletin reported.
Prince Mateen and Anisha joined the royal family in offering birthday wishes to the Queen, who later cut a cake with the Sultan and received congratulations from guests.
The organising committee presented the royal couple with two gifts, including a commemorative book titled The King and the Queen: A Royal Legacy, highlighting their contributions to national development, the preservation of Islam and public welfare.
The evening also featured a video presentation about the book, a poetry recital titled "Julangan Kasih Dirgahayu 80" and a performance by an orchestra comprising musicians from government agencies and the Brunei Youth Symphony, according to Pelita Brunei.
The banquet followed several celebrations held in honor of the Queen, including an event at the Royal Berkshire Hall at the Jerudong Park Polo Club.

Born in 1946, Queen Saleha married Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah in 1965. Over the past six decades, she has accompanied him on diplomatic engagements and participated in charitable and community activities.
Prince Mateen, 35, has gained a large social media following for his appearance, sporting achievements and involvement in royal diplomatic duties.
He married Anisha in a 10-day wedding celebration in January 2024. The couple have since appeared together at official events in Brunei and abroad and welcomed their first child, Princess Zahra, in March 2026.
