The country celebrated the 20th anniversary of its participation in United Nations (UN) peacekeeping operations, vowing to expand its role in maintaining regional and global stability, security and development.

The event took place at the Training School for Multinational Peacekeeping Forces in Kampong Speu province yesterday. The celebration also marked the inauguration of new facilities designed to enhance peacekeeper training.

Speaking at the ceremony, Prime Minister Hun Manet said the nation first deployed its “blue helmets” to UN missions in 2006.

He highlighted the kingdom’s pride in transforming from a war-torn country into an active contributor to global peace under the UN umbrella.
