Singapore, Brunei sign pact to strengthen supply chain resilience

SINGAPORE: Singapore and Brunei have signed a memorandum of understanding to strengthen cooperation on supply chain resilience and ensure the continued flow of essential goods during crises.

The agreement was signed Monday (Oct 12) at the second Singapore-Brunei Joint Committee Ministerial Meeting, according to a statement from Singapore's Ministry of Energy, Trade and Industry.

It reaffirms both countries' commitments under the upgraded Asean Trade in Goods Agreement by clarifying the essential goods covered, including food, crude oil and fuel products, and medical supplies, the statement said.

Singapore was Brunei's fourth-largest trading partner in goods in 2025, with bilateral merchandise trade totaling S$2.32 billion (US$1.8 billion), according to the statement. - Xinhua
