Brunei University, AmiproSimpor sign MoU to strengthen research collaboration

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: Universiti Brunei Darussalam and AmiproSimpor Sdn. Bhd. have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to strengthen strategic cooperation in research, innovation and the commercialisation of research outcomes.

According to Brunei's official media, Pelita Brunei, on Saturday (Oct 10), both parties will explore opportunities for joint research, consultancy services and innovation initiatives in areas of mutual interest, focusing on addressing real-world challenges and developing technologies tailored to industry needs.

Established in 2025, AmiproSimpor Sdn. Bhd. is a joint venture between Amipro, a research-led pharmaceutical developer, and Simpor Pharma, Brunei's pioneering Good Manufacturing Practice-certified manufacturer.

The MoU opens up opportunities for training, industrial placement programmes, internships, graduate placements and staff exchanges to enhance exposure to professional practices and industrial working environments.

The initiatives aim to strengthen local workforce capabilities, expand collaboration between industry and academic institutions, and contribute to Brunei's economic diversification efforts and the aspirations of Brunei Vision 2035. - Xinhua
