Five houses destroyed as riverbank collapses in central Myanmar after heavy rain

YANGON: Five houses were destroyed after a riverbank along the Doathtawaddy River collapsed in Uyintaw Village, Amarapura Township, Mandalay Region, on the afternoon of September 30 following heavy rainfall.

Firefighters and auxiliary firefighters from Amarapura Township Fire Station, Myitnge Fire Station, Taungthaman Auxiliary Fire Station, Shwe Kyetyet Auxiliary Fire Station and Phyauk Seikkone Auxiliary Fire Station arrived at the site to carry out rescue and emergency response operations.
