KUALA LUMPUR: After the success of the Back to Basic and DiA showcase series, the renowned local singer, Misha Omar, will be meeting her fans again through an exclusive showcase titled "Aku & Lelaki," which will take place on October 24 at 8.3opm at JioSpace, Petaling Jaya, Selangor.
More interestingly, this showcase is part of the journey towards the concert celebrating 25 years of Misha Omar's artistic journey, which will take place next year.
Unlike previous performances, "Aku & Lelaki" presents a fresher concept while celebrating the balance of two complementary sides – masculine and feminine, strength and gentleness, as well as loss and hope.
Surely, the performance will later celebrate the beauty of various emotions that come in every journey of life - from feelings of love, loss, longing, and confusion to joy and hope.
Each song is carefully selected to create a narrative that showcases a balance between masculine and feminine elements in line with the identity of this showcase.
In addition to performing popular songs from her personal catalogue, Misha Omar will also provide her own interpretation of iconic songs that were once popularised by male singers from Malaysia, Indonesia, and internationally.
With her vocal strength, emotional finesse, and Misha Omar's ability to bring each piece to life, this showcase is expected to be a performance that combines elements of nostalgia, appreciation for music, and an intimate artistic experience.
"I don't want fans to hear the same thing every time we meet. "Aku & Lelaki" is my space and opportunity to explore songs that I admire from male singers who have greatly inspired my musical journey.
"However, at the same time, I still will continue to carry my identity as a female singer.
"I want fans to enjoy something new, and I hope this showcase will make the audience leave with special memories," said Misha Omar.
To ensure the performance meets the desired production standards, "Aku & Lelaki" has assembled a lineup of experienced creative talents led by Music Director Ee Jeng, who is responsible for arranging the entire music and performance freshly and exclusively.
The direction of the performance was led by Jennifer Thompson, while the technical aspects were handled by Simon to ensure the best visual and audio experience for her beloved fans.
This showcase is organised by Double M Productions with concert management by Altus Prohouse, promising a high-quality production that is sure to meet the expectations of local music fans.
As the curtain rises towards Misha Omar's 25th anniversary concert, "Aku & Lelaki" is not just a showcase but a night celebrating music, nostalgia, and emotions that unite Misha Omar with fans who have faithfully accompanied her artistic journey for over two decades.
