China's police chief meets with Lao, Uzbekistani officials

BEIJING: Chinese Minister of Public Security Wang Xiaohong met with Lao Minister of Public Security Vanthong Kongmany and Uzbekistan's Minister of Internal Affairs Aziz Tashpulatov in Beijing on Sunday (Sept 6).

During his meeting with Vanthong, Wang, also a member of the Secretariat of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, said that China stands ready to implement the important consensus reached by the top leaders of the two parties and the two heads of state, deepen cooperation in areas including combating online gambling, telecom fraud, drug control, and maintaining border security, and intensify security cooperation on the China-Laos Railway, so as to contribute more to jointly building an all-weather China-Laos community with a shared future in the new era.

Vanthong, also a Secretariat member of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party (LPRP) Central Committee, expressed Laos' gratitude for China's long-standing support and assistance, adding that Laos is willing to deepen law enforcement and security cooperation with China and continue to promote bilateral relations.

During his meeting with Tashpulatov, Wang said China is willing to work with Uzbekistan to follow through on the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, implement the four major global initiatives, and deepen cooperation in key areas such as combating the "three evil forces" and enhancing security cooperation for high-quality Belt and Road cooperation.

He also called for joint efforts to achieve more practical outcomes under the China-Central Asia ministerial conference mechanism on public security and safeguard regional stability and development.

Tashpulatov said Uzbekistan is willing to enhance law enforcement exchanges and cooperation with China at all levels and continuously enrich the connotation of bilateral cooperation. - Xinhua
