Rain likely across much of Bangladesh in next 24 hours

DHAKA:The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) today forecast rain in different parts of the country over the next 24 hours from 9:00am.

“Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty winds are likely to occur at many places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions and at a few places over Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions,” said a Met office bulletin.

Moderately heavy to heavy rainfall may also occur at places across the country, it said.

Day and night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged across the country.

The highest temperature recorded on Friday was 34.5 degrees Celsius in Rajshahi, while today’s lowest temperature was 23.7 degrees Celsius in Sylhet.

In the 24 hours until 6:00am today, Feni recorded the highest rainfall, at 61mm.

The sun sets at 6:13pm today and rises at 5:42am tomorrow in Dhaka.
