YANGON: Myanmar exported over 130,411 tonnes of fishery products in the first five months of the fiscal year 2026-27, which began in April, earning over US$225 million, according to the Department of Fisheries on Saturday (Sept 5).
The export volume declined compared with the same period of the previous fiscal year, when the country exported over 153,926 tonnes of fishery products, the department said.
Myanmar exports fishery products to about 40 countries, with the majority going to China, Thailand, the Middle East and Europe, it said.
In the previous fiscal year, Myanmar exported over 463,000 tonnes of fishery products. - Xinhua
