Restricted airspace declared over Bandar Seri Begawan on Aug 25

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: The area within a 3-nautical-mile (5.56-kilometre) radius of Taman Haji Sir Muda Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien in the capital will be declared restricted airspace on Aug 25.

The Department of Civil Aviation (DCA) said the restriction is being introduced as an additional security and safety measure.

Under the declaration, unauthorised aircraft, including drones and other unmanned aircraft, are prohibited from operating within the restricted airspace.

The DCA warned that failure to comply constitutes a contravention of the laws and regulations of Brunei Darussalam under Section 50 of the Civil Aviation Act, Chapter 290.

Members of the public seeking clarification may contact the DCA Head of Regulatory at 2330142, extension 1455, or email unmanned.aircraft@dca.gov.bn.

The DCA urged the public to cooperate fully and comply with the restriction. - Borneo Bulletin/ANN
