SEOUL: Four in 10 US music consumers are familiar with BTS, while 46 per cent view the K-pop group favourably, according to a recent survey.

The group's agency BigHit Music said Friday (Aug 14), quoting second-quarter data from global music data company Luminate, that 42 per cent of music consumers in the US were familiar with BTS, while 46 per cent viewed the group favourably.

The average recognition rate for all artists surveyed stood at 24 per cent, putting BTS 18 percentage points above the overall average.

BTS' favourability rating was its highest since the group was first included in the survey in 2021. The figure rose 12 percentage points compared to 34 per cent in the first survey.

"Luminate's latest survey results show that BTS has established broad mainstream appeal in the US beyond its fandom, backed by high recognition and favorability," BigHit Music said. - The Korea Herald/ANN
