The male calf is the first beluga whale born to a mother bred at an aquarium in Japan, the aquarium said. Nana, 19, gave birth early on Aug. 4, after her water broke late the previous evening.
The calf is estimated to be 1.55 metres long and weigh 65 kilograms.
Both mother and calf are healthy, and the aquarium is considering a public contest to name the calf.
