C-drama superstars Wang Churan and Zhang Linghe leads 'Overdo' in iQIYI's latest offering set to premiere on July 19

Starring hot stars Wang Churan and Zhang Linghe, the romance drama “Overdo” is set to premiere on iQIYI International on July 19. 

Set in the fictional city of Nancheng, the series centers on Ren Susu, played by Wang Churan, and Murong Qingyi, played by Zhang Linghe. Reunited after years apart, the two gradually rediscover each other through a series of tentative exchanges, revealing an emotional push and pull that has built up over the years.

At launch, iQIYI International will offer the series with original Chinese audio, along with exclusive dubbed versions in Vietnamese, Thai, Indonesian, Spanish and Portuguese.

The story begins with Murong Qingyi facing hardship in his youth. A mix-up surrounding his origins makes his early life turbulent, while Ren Susu’s decision to save him marks the beginning of their bond.

Years later, they meet again in Nancheng, with both their identities and circumstances transformed.

Old wounds, present-day choices, and feelings that neither has been able to let go of become intertwined. As long-buried family matters gradually come to light, the two move between closeness and uncertainty, reassessing their relationship as they face new choices.

Ren Susu is resilient and courageous. Faced with unresolved family matters, she is determined to uncover the truth and hold on to what she believes in. Murong Qingyi is also a layered character.

After giving up his role as a doctor, his identity and state of mind begin to shift, gradually revealing different sides of him. Their reunion is only the beginning.

The real challenge is learning how to find their way back to each other.

Misunderstandings, sacrifices, and choices they cannot avoid keep changing the course of their relationship. As closeness gives way to distance and back again, emotional tension continues to build.
