BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: Daha Auto Sdn Bhd, a member of the GHK Group of Companies, introduced the JMEV brand to the Brunei market with the launch of the all-new JMEV Elight at the Centre Atrium, The Mall Gadong on Thursday (July 16).
The introduction of JMEV reflects Daha Auto’s commitment to expanding Brunei’s electric vehicle (EV) market by offering innovative and environmentally friendly mobility solutions tailored to the needs of modern motorists.
Designed as a modern electric sedan, the JMEV Elight combines sleek styling with intelligent technology, delivering a driving range of up to 501 kilometres on a single charge through its 56.31kWh battery. The vehicle is powered by a 165kW permanent magnet electric motor producing 210Nm of torque, enabling acceleration from zero to 100km/h in under 8.9 seconds with a top speed of 140km/h.
The vehicle supports both AC and DC charging, requiring approximately eight to 10 hours for a full AC charge, while DC fast charging replenishes the battery from 30 to 80 per cent in around 25 minutes.
The Elight features a fastback-inspired exterior with Matrix LED headlamps, LED daytime running lights, a panoramic glass canopy, rain-sensing wipers, heated and auto-folding side mirrors, keyless entry and 17-inch alloy wheels.
Inside, the cabin is equipped with a 14.6-inch infotainment touchscreen, a seven-inch digital instrument cluster, wireless smartphone charging, a six-speaker audio system, power-adjustable front seats, automatic climate control, rear air vents, USB charging ports and premium interior finishes.
Safety is enhanced through a comprehensive suite of driver assistance technologies, including a 360-degree camera, blind spot detection, rear cross traffic alert, rear collision warning, door open warning, tyre pressure monitoring system, electronic stability control, anti-lock braking system, electronic brakeforce distribution, electronic brake assist, hill start assist, hill descent assist, traction control, multiple airbags and a vehicle sound for pedestrians system.
The all-new JMEV Elight is backed by a five-year/150,000-kilometre vehicle warranty and an eight-year/150,000-kilometre high-voltage battery warranty, providing added confidence for owners.
To mark the launch, the first 10 customers who purchase the JMEV Elight will receive a free 7kW home AC wall charger, complimentary window tinting and a BND2,000 cash voucher.
Following the launch, Daha Auto is holding a four-day public roadshow at the Centre Atrium until July 19, 2026, from 10am to 10pm daily. Visitors will have the opportunity to view the JMEV Elight up close, explore its advanced EV technology and speak with the sales team about EV ownership and financing options.
