Four injured in stabbing incident in Japan's Oita region, suspect arrested


TOKYO: Four people were injured in a stabbing incident in Saiki City of southwestern Japan's Oita Prefecture on Monday (July 13) morning, local media reported.

According to public broadcaster NHK, local police notified emergency responders shortly after 9.30am local time that someone had been stabbed with a kitchen knife at the parking lot of a store in Saiki City.

Police said four people were injured, all of whom are conscious and have been taken to the hospital.

Police arrested a 44-year-old male suspect at a nearby medical facility on suspicion of violating the firearms and swords control law. Authorities are investigating the details of the incident. - Xinhua
