Bangladeshi ambassador pays courtesy call on Myanmar's Union Minister


YANGON: Union Minister for Electricity and Energy, U Ko Ko Lwin, received the Ambassador of Bangladesh to Myanmar, Dr Md Monwar Hossain, at the Yenangsa Guest Hall of the Ministry of Electricity and Energy on Friday (July 10).

During the meeting, they discussed issues of cooperation in addressing energy-related challenges arising from the Middle East conflict, and bilateral cooperation, as Myanmar and Bangladesh share land and sea borders, which offer good opportunities in energy trade.

In addition, they exchanged views on issues related to the construction of a cross-border power grid (regional grid) between the two countries and the trade of electricity, as well as the construction of a cross-border power grid between China, Myanmar and Bangladesh.

The meeting was also attended by the Deputy Union Minister, Permanent Secretary and other officials. - Eleven Media/ANN
