Mentally challenged minor girl gang-raped in Bhopal, India

NEW DELHI: Two minor boys allegedly gang-raped a mentally challenged minor girl in Bhopal, filmed the act and circulated it on mobile phones.

Following a complaint by the victim’s parents, the police registered a case and detained one of the accused.

According to the police, the incident occurred a few days ago when the girl was outside her house.

The two accused, who live in the same neighbourhood, forced her to come with them on the pretext of talking to her.

They took her to a secluded place behind a building and allegedly took turns raping her.

They also filmed the ghastly act and sent it from their mobile phones to some people.

On Wednesday night, the victim’s family members learnt about the incident and lodged a police complaint.

According to police officials, both accused have been booked under Sections 5(G)and 6 of the POCSO Act, Sections 70 (2) and 351 (3) of the BNS, and Section 67-A of the IT Act.

Police officials said one of the accused has been detained, while efforts are underway to trace the other. - The Statesman/ANN
