New platform targets cyber scams and trafficking

The International Operational Dialogue ended with the rollout of a Thailand-designed information-sharing platform to dismantle cyber scam and human trafficking networks, Xinhua reported.

Speaking at the closing ceremony on Friday, Tatchai Pitaneelaboot, deputy commissioner-general of the Royal Thai Police and director of the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Centre, said delays in information sharing between authorities often slow investigations, arrests and victim rescues.

To address these challenges, he said the Thai government has developed a centralised web application enabling secure and efficient data sharing between participating countries.

He said the database is the focal point of the collaboration, integrating communications, banking and mobility data to dismantle global syndicates. — Bernama
