Four illegal Chinese nationals arrested in Myanmar for involvement in online scam and gambling operations

MUSE, Myanmar: Four Chinese nationals residing illegally in Muse Township, northern Shan State, were arrested along with equipment used in online scam and gambling operations, according to local authorities.

Security forces conducting inspections and investigations to prevent online fraud and gambling activities from operating within the region carried out a raid at approximately 5:45 pm. on June 24. The operation targeted a house located in Homon Ward, Muse Township.

During the raid, authorities apprehended four male Chinese nationals allegedly involved in online scam and gambling activities. Security personnel also seized 34 mobile phones, eight all-in-one computers, and one inverter believed to have been used in the operations.

Officials stated that the suspects are currently undergoing further investigation. Upon completion of the necessary legal procedures, they will face action in accordance with existing laws. The confiscated equipment will also be processed under the relevant legal and administrative procedures.
