6.3 magnitude earthquake hits China's Qinghai, confirms CENC


BEIJING (Xinhua) -- A 6.3-magnitude earthquake jolted Haixi Prefecture in northwest China's Qinghai Province at 5.06 pm on Tuesday (Beijing Time), according to the China Earthquake Networks Centre (CENC).

The epicentre was monitored at 37.80 degrees north latitude and 95.56 degrees east longitude. The quake struck at a depth of 10 kilometres, said a report issued by the CENC. 

There were no immediate reports of casualties ​or damage and ​local authorities were assessing the ‌situation, ⁠state broadcaster CCTV reported. -- Xinhua
