“Majlis Tertinggi Rockqueen Ella: Homecoming Edisi 60 Permata Biru” in Penang will now be held on Aug 22

Hitman Solutions and Rockqueen have announced that “Majlis Tertinggi Rockqueen Ella: Homecoming Edisi 60 Permata Biru” will now take place on Aug 22 at Setia SPICE Arena, Penang, marking an exciting upgrade to the highly anticipated concert celebrating Ella’s return to her home state.

The decision follows extensive discussions between the organisers, production team, and the artist, with a shared commitment to delivering the best possible concert experience for fans. The new venue and date have been carefully selected to enhance comfort, accessibility, production quality, and overall audience enjoyment while preserving the spirit and significance of Ella’s special homecoming celebration.

A Closer, More Immersive & Nostalgic Experience

Setia SPICE Arena was chosen for its ability to offer a more intimate connection between artist and audience through a venue layout that brings fans closer to the stage, enhanced acoustics, and a more immersive concert atmosphere. Earlier, the concert was to be held at the  Penang State Stadium on July 25. 

As an indoor venue, Setia SPICE Arena also provides greater protection against unpredictable weather conditions such as heavy rain and storms, ensuring a smoother and more enjoyable experience for concert-goers. In addition, the venue offers improved accessibility, transportation convenience, and visitor-friendly facilities.

Beyond its practical advantages, Setia SPICE Arena holds special sentimental value in Ella’s career. The venue previously hosted the hugely successful “Jilid Akhir: Ella Puteri Kota”, which attracted more than 14,000 fans, making it a fitting location for what promises to be another historic chapter in her musical journey.

According to the organisers, the move to Setia SPICE Arena was also influenced by overwhelming feedback from fans who expressed their desire to relive the unforgettable atmosphere of Ella’s previous Penang performance.

As such, the change is viewed not merely as a relocation but as an enhancement that adds greater value to the overall concert experience while remaining true to the original vision of “Homecoming Edisi 60 Permata Biru”, a landmark celebration commemorating Ella’s 60th birthday and extraordinary legacy in Malaysian music.

While the organisers initially intended to maintain the original date of 25 July 2026, venue availability ultimately made 22 August 2026 the most suitable option for staging the event at Setia SPICE Arena.The organisers have confirmed that all ticket prices will remain unchanged.

Existing ticket holders will automatically be reassigned to seats of equivalent value at SPICE Arena at no additional cost. Further details regarding the seat reallocation process will be communicated directly to ticket purchasers in the coming weeks.

Continuing the spirit of the Peace, Love & Rindu campaign, RM2 from every ticket sold will be channeled to selected charitable organisations based on the ticket buyer’s choice. Contributions under the Peace category will go to Angkatan Belia Islam Malaysia (ABIM) Pulau Pinang, the Love category to Yayasan Kebajikan Negara (YKN), and the Rindu category to Yayasan Kebajikan Artis Tanahair.

Adding to the excitement surrounding the concert, two of Malaysia’s most celebrated music icons, Ramli Sarip and also Ziana Zain, have been confirmed as special guest performers for the concert. Additional guest artists are currently being finalised and will be announced in due course.

In conjunction with the concert’s official theme, fans are encouraged to embrace the spirit of the “Glam 90s Rock : Battle Of The Bands”  era, a period closely associated with Ella’s early career and rise to fame. 

Fashion elements such as denim jackets, denim jeans, leather jackets, and leather boots are highly encouraged as a tribute to the “glam and grunge” aesthetic that defined Malaysia’s rock music scene during the decade, particularly the iconic image of Ella & The Boys.

Commenting on the changes, Ella welcomed the decision, emphasising her commitment to delivering the best possible experience for her fans.

“As always, my priority is giving my very best to the fans and ensuring that every performance becomes a special experience. My ‘Homecoming’ is still happening, and I’m incredibly excited to return, perform, and reconnect with my fans in the Northern region who have continuously supported my artistic journey,” said Ella.

Meanwhile, Hitman Solutions Head of Special Projects, Keeran D, said the decision was reached following extensive deliberations among all parties involved.

“After careful consideration and discussions, we are confident that this change will provide an even greater experience for concert-goers. Setia SPICE Arena offers a more suitable environment to deliver a production that truly reflects Ella’s status as Malaysia’s one and only Rockqueen.

“While we had initially hoped to maintain the original date of 25 July, venue availability made 22 August the best possible option to meet both production requirements and audience expectations. We believe fans will appreciate the enhanced experience that this venue provides,” he said.
