YANGON: A woman was killed in a landslide caused by heavy rainfall in Tangyan Township, Shan State, according to a statement released by the Myanmar Fire Services Department.
The incident occurred at around 7:30 a.m. on June 8 in Ward (6), Group (5), of Tangyan Township in Lashio District, Shan State. Heavy rain triggered a landslide near a residential house, with soil collapsing onto the left-side room of the home.
After receiving reports of the incident, firefighters from the Tangyan Township Fire Station carried out search and rescue operations at the scene.
According to the Myanmar Fire Services Department, one woman died in the incident. Her body was transported by ambulance from the Tangyan Auxiliary Fire Station to the Tangyan Township Public Hospital. - Eleven Media/ANN
