JAKARTA: (Bernama-Xinhua) Indonesia's Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) has warned of high waves of up to four metres in several waters across the country from Tuesday (May 5) to Friday (May 8), urging seafarers and coastal communities to remain vigilant, reported Xinhua.
BMKG said in a statement that waves of 2.5 to 4 metres could occur in the western Indian Ocean off Lampung, as well as waters south of Banten, West Java, Central Java, and Yogyakarta.
"Potential high waves in these areas may pose risks to shipping safety," the agency said on Tuesday.
BMKG urged fishermen, shipping operators, and coastal residents to monitor the latest maritime weather updates and avoid activities that exceed safety limits. - Bernama-Xinhua
