Cambodia sends 30-member delegation to 2026 Asian Beach Games

PHNOM PENH: Cambodia on Tuesday (April 21) sent a 30-member delegation to compete at the 2026 Asian Beach Games in Sanya, south China's Hainan Province, a senior sports official said.

Vath Chamroeun, secretary general of the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia (NOCC), said the delegation includes athletes, coaches and officials taking part in the regional event.

Cambodian athletes will compete in four sports: wrestling, jiu-jitsu, triathlon and table football.

"We hope that our athletes will do their best in competition in order to gain medals and pride for the nation," Vath said before departing with the team.

The Games, scheduled from April 22 to 30, will feature 14 sports, 15 disciplines and 62 events, aimed at promoting tourism and international exchanges.

It will be the second time China has hosted the Asian Beach Games, after the 2012 edition in Haiyang, Shandong Province. - Xinhua
