BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has arrived in Brunei Darussalam for an official visit aimed at strengthening cooperation on energy security and the supply of essential goods.

During the visit, Anthony Albanese is scheduled to have an audience with Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah, where discussions are expected to focus on energy cooperation, food security and supply chain resilience.

The visit highlights close bilateral ties, with Brunei supplying around nine per cent of Australia’s diesel imports and 11 per cent of its fertiliser-grade urea, while Australia remains a key source of food and agricultural products for Brunei.

Both countries elevated relations to a Comprehensive Partnership in 2023, reinforcing collaboration in energy, climate and economic sectors. - Borneo Bulletin/ANN
