Four dead as truck plows into gym in southern Philippines


MANILA: Four people were killed after a cargo truck plowed into a village gymnasium and several parked vehicles in Davao City, the southern Philippines, on Saturday morning (April 11), local authorities said.

The Davao City Police Office said the incident occurred shortly after 10 a.m. when a tire on the 10-wheeler truck burst, causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle.

Police said the driver, his helper and two pedestrians died at the scene. - Xinhua
