BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: Five heads of families Thursday (April 9) received financial assistance totalling BND3,250 from the government of His Majesty Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam through the Community Development Department (JAPEM) at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS).

Acting Director of JAPEM Fauziah Mohd Salleh handed over the financial assistance to the disaster victims during the event at Citra Budaya Hall, MCYS building.

The recipients of the financial assistance comprised four victims of flooding incidents and one involved in a fire incident.

All victims and residents involved in the disasters were reported to be safe and did not sustain any injuries.

The financial assistance is hoped to ease the burden experienced by disaster victims for the well-being of their families.

It also reflects the government’s concern and care for citizens and residents affected by calamities. - Borneo Bulletin/ANN
