Brunei bazaar supports small businesses

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN (Xinhua): Brunei's biggest bank, Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam (BIBD), had launched a Ramadan bazaar to coincide with the 42nd Brunei national day celebration.

The bazaar features more than 42 local micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises, offering a variety of food, beverages, and products. It will run until March 15, 2026.

Held in a community atmosphere at a park in the capital, the event provides a space for families and friends to gather for outdoor activities while enjoying the scenic surroundings of the iconic Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque.

The bazaar promotes cashless transactions, reflecting BIBD's vision of a digital economy and supporting financial inclusion by introducing customers and merchants to accessible digital payment tools.

By encouraging the use of digital payments, BIBD aims to make transactions more convenient and secure for both vendors and customers. -- Xinhua
